When we heard that our friends at the Clean Label Project use data and science to reveal the true contents of America’s best-selling consumer products, we had to get in on the action. Madhava prides ourselves on providing products made with clean and pure ingredients, and it is our goal to be completely transparent with our consumers. Teaming up with the Clean Label Project is another step of transparency that we were excited to take.
The Clean Label Project is hard at work to make it easy for consumers to identify products made with good, clean ingredients on store shelves. Wouldn’t it be nice to know that your favorite products are 100% free from hundreds of commonly hidden contaminants and toxins? The CLP tests America’s best-selling consumer products for hundreds of contaminants and toxins including heavy metals, antibiotics and pesticides – all of which are preferred, by our minds and bodies, NOT to be consumed. Once the products have been tested, the results are published online so that ALL consumers are able to see how their favorite products are ranked. For the last 46 years, it’s been Madhava’s top priority to source the purest, most authentic and delicious ingredients in an eco-friendly way. While our specific market can be difficult to bypass commonly used pesticides, we found a way. Bees can fly up to six miles in one day, making organic honey a particularly difficult ingredient to keep completely free from pesticides, especially here in the USA. That’s why we source our Organic Honey from wildflower fields in Brazil and Mexico, where these contaminants are not used for miles in any direction. While other companies might avoid such testing, we were eager to confirm the purity of our products. We asked the Clean Label Project to test our Organic Honey, Organic Agave and Organic Coconut Sugar for hundreds of contaminants, and publish the results online for everyone to see.
Needless to say, we weren’t surprised when each of our tested products passed with flying colors. We even won awards for Purity and Authenticity – our labels tell the truth! The CLP will be publishing the “Sweeteners” report on their website, and you’ll soon find the Clean Label Project badge of approval on all of our packaging.
